I say challenging because cast speed has been reduced a lot since the first 2 installments of the franchise, and also because if you want your DMG output to be staggering (both figuratively and literally), you’ll have to gimp yourself by using equipment that will reduce both your physical and magical defenses, sometimes to values lesser than what you started the game with. Well, I’d say playing as a caster is extremely fun, interesting, and challenging. You might be wondering why you should play as Sorcerer, or as a caster in general. I will focus heavily on Sorcerers, but I will also point out everything of interest to Clerics and Pyromancers along the way so, don’t worry, there will be fire, and there will be lightning. This guide will be dedicated to everyone who is interested in starting the game as a caster. The Sorcerer guide I wrote for Dark Souls II SOTFS was very late to the party, but seems to have somehow helped a good number of people, so I decided to write another one for Dark Souls III.
Please be patient, I will do it as fast as I can. The guide is finished, thanks to the help of my friend Starlight Razor, but it needs formatting and an update following the release of patch 1.09.
